Karyl Tymciw was born in Shawville, QC - the third of the four children of Rev. William & Joyce Daw.

As a pastor's duaghter, Karyl lived in several places while growing up and began singing as a small child along with her sister Suzanne. 

Following elementary school, Karyl attended Rideau District School in Elgin, ON and after graduation, attended St. Lawrence College in Kingaton, ON graduating as a graphic designer.

As a child, Karyl studied both piano and vocal music but also took up the guitar/ukelle (in elementary school) which she used to accompany herself, her sister Suzanne and a friend Penny as they sang at weddings, anniversaries, funerals, churches, nursing homes and dozens other special events. Throughout high school and college, Karyl continued to sing regularly at local functions as part of a group "Manna" with her brother Frank. Karyl originally joined the Proverbs in the early 1980's.

Karyl met her future husband Paul Tymciw at a concert where the Proverbs performed together with Paul's gospel group - the Living Hope Singers. Karyl & Paul were married in 1985. They have 3 children, Ashley, Ben & Jaccob..

Karyl presently works during the week as a recptionist for Briarcrest Nursing Home - Amherstview, ON. She also works in the music ministry of the Proverbs on weekends. Karyl also works regularly as studio background vocalist.

Karyl originally joined the Proverbs (for about 4 years) in 1981, re-joining the group in the spring of 2008.

Karyl enjoys many types of music as well as singing with the Proverbs, She is a devoted wife and mom and an excellent cook. She currently has a cat named "STC". Karyl and her husband have also been active in their local church working in both worship and children's ministries.

Karyl enjoys traveling and singing in the Proverbs, along with her husband Paul, her brother dave and sister-in-law Kathy.
